What are Browser Cookies?
A browser cookie is a small text file that a web server sends your web browser when you request a page from a site. This text file is no larger than 4k and stores specific data elements. There is no programming code in these files.
The first time you log into Online Banking you will receive a onetime code via cell phone, text message or email. When you put this one time code on your computer you will have the option of:
- 1.“Yes, Register this computer
This option will allow you to bypass the one time code upon your next login, at this computer. This is accomplished by the uses of a cookie.
- 2.“No, This is a public computer”
This option will require the use of the one time code the next time you log in at this computer
If you need information on how to allow cookies, you can select your browser from the list on the right. This will provide the process of enabling cookies on your browser.
